Team Alice BleckerPolicy and Research Fellow Email Alice Blecker is a Research and Policy Fellow who joined the Children’s Funding Project in January 2025. She will assist the organization’s Fiscal Mapping and Cost Modeling teams. Specifically, Alice will help develop resources demonstrating how cost models can inform policy, advocacy, and revenue generation. Additionally, she will support the Senior Manager of Cost Modeling in creating individual cost models for communities pursuing actionable funding goals, including those exploring or implementing Voter-Approved Children’s Funds. Alice will also collaborate with the Fiscal Map and Cost Model teams to contribute to the design and implementation of courses on Fiscal Map and Out-of-School-Time Cost Modeling, as well as refine the Child Care Cost Modeling course to enhance its practicality and impact.Outside of her role with CFP, Alice is an Adjunct Professor of teacher education at the City University of New York and an Instructional Designer at the Stanford Center on Early Childhood, where she creates data-driven, strengths-based, and trauma-informed curriculum for professional development and teacher preparation. Previously, Alice served as the Coordinator for the New York State Early Childhood Advisory Council, where she supported the implementation of the state’s Early Childhood Strategic Plan and development of policy recommendations addressing finance, health, workforce development, and early learning. Alice began her career as a preschool teacher in the Bay Area, an experience that drives her commitment to improve outcomes for children, youth, families, and the direct service providers who support them.Alice earned an MA in Early Childhood Education from Mills College, with a focus on Policy and Advocacy. Alice now lives in Brooklyn, NY, and enjoys collaborating on art and design projects with her friends, family, and community.
