Chelsea E. Fish

Senior Policy Associate

Chelsea E. Fish is a citizen of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma and descends from Muscogee (Creek) and Chickasaw Nations. For over 15 years, Chelsea has worked at the national level to address socioeconomic concerns on behalf of tribal communities. She is specialized in working alongside non-government organizations in advocacy for the development of federal and tribal housing, gaming, small business, and health policies.

Fish previously served in executive leadership, working to secure affordable housing for tribes. In leadership, she’s also worked to increase and protect federal contracting opportunities on behalf tribally owned small business enterprises. Her role in small business supported successful implementation of the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) program. Additionally, Fish’s portfolio includes technical assistance and research on behalf of Urban Indian Health Organizations and management of the Tribal Food Sovereignty Advancement Initiative for the National Congress of American Indians. Through federal service, Fish developed expertise in tribal workforce development and specialized in training development.

Chelsea earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Education with an emphasis on public health degree, from the University of the District of Columbia. In 2022, Chelsea received the 40 Under 40 leadership award from National Center for American Indian Economic Development. She is originally from Tishomingo, OK, and currently resides in Washington, D.C. with her family of four children.
