Kristen Loschert

Director, Storytelling and Content Development

Kristen joined Children’s Funding Project in November 2021 as the organization’s communications director and then became director, storytelling and content development, in June 2026 to build out the organization’s storytelling capacity. She brings more than 20 years of experience in communications, journalism, public policy, and advocacy to her role and a career dedicated to supporting the needs of children and youth.

Prior to joining Children’s Funding Project, Kristen served as editorial director at All4Ed, a nonprofit education policy and advocacy organization, where she conceived, developed, and managed an online photo library of more than 700 original commissioned images that averaged 15,000 monthly views across platforms. She also served as the editor of Tomorrow’s Teachers, an annual magazine serving the needs of aspiring educators published by the National Education Association. Meanwhile, as a communications consultant, Kristen has worked with think tanks, research organizations, associations, universities, and advocacy groups including Brookings Institution, New America, National School Boards Association, and the Institute for Student Achievement. Her articles about early childhood education and child development have appeared on award-winning blogs such as EdCentral and in mainstream magazines including Parenting and Northern Virginia.

Kristen holds a master’s degree in education policy from The George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Richmond.
