She also directed multi-state research projects that informed public policy to dismantle systemic barriers and promote both economic and racial equity. Earlier in her career, Lisa served as a Policy Analyst at Voices for Illinois Children, where she conducted in-depth research on tax and budget policies affecting children and contributed to the Illinois Kids Count report, tracking key data on child welfare in the state.

Lisa began her career in public education, working as a middle school English and dance teacher. There, she developed a strong dedication to ensuring that all children, regardless of background, have equal access to educational resources and opportunities.

Lisa holds a J.D. and a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Chicago, and a B.A. in English and Dance Education from Brigham Young University. She lives outside of Seattle, WA, nestled in the Issaquah Alps with her husband and houseplants. When she’s not in the office, she can be found doting on her seventeen nieces and nephews and exploring new mountain trails.
