Laura Lopez

Fiscal Mapping Project Manager

Laura joined Children’s Funding Project in April 2022 as a project manager before transitioning to fiscal mapping project manager. She supports the research capacity team by ensuring projects are fulfilled on-time, on-budget, and with high quality; and building and maintaining relationships with CFP’s fiscal mapping partners.

Prior to joining the Children’s Funding Project, she worked for the San Antonio Report, a non-profit newsroom, as the events & audience engagement manager. She led the planning and programming for public policy and community engagement events that consisted of in person, hybrid, and virtual gatherings. Laura is also a proud alumna of the Latina Leadership Institute, a program of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce designed to build the skills and knowledge that today’s Latina leaders need to succeed in running for elected office, applying for positions on local, state, federal or corporate boards and commissions and/or interested in leadership roles within political campaign management.

Laura is a native Texan native and graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science in community health and a Master of Public Administration. She currently resides in San Antonio, Texas and enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, children, and rescue dogs.
