Marta joined Children’s Funding Project in April 2025 as the Executive Assistant to Founder and CEO Elizabeth Gaines. A first-generation Latina and Washington, D.C. native, Marta brings over eight years of experience supporting nonprofit executives, boards, and cross-functional teams. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she specializes in managing complex schedules, coordinating events, and enhancing operational processes to help mission-driven organizations succeed.

Before joining Children’s Funding Project, Marta supported leadership at the Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations (AAPCHO), One Love Foundation, and Friends of the Earth. Her background blends executive support, HR coordination, and event management, all strengthened by a proactive and collaborative approach.

Outside of work, Marta enjoys marathon running, strength training at the gym, sewing, and propagating plants. She brings the same energy and care to her hobbies as she does to her professional work.
